British Ceramics Biennial showcases excellence in ceramics and the best of modern-day practice by makers and artists across the UK. The 2011 festival saw awe-inspiring exhibits and installations at the historic listed site of the original Spode Pottery factory in Stoke Town.
Wonder were commissioned to bring the festival alive online, further supporting brand recognition and driving actual visits to the festival. Looking across the festival landscape and unearthing the desires and needs of arts festival goers, we began to map out sumptuous content alongside the practicalities of any festival.
The website design features clean lines, injections of hot pink, bold devices and strong iconography. Extending the brand palette, we used the tube detail to connect navigation, clearly charting the online user journey.
The new website has features including a vertical home carousel to push key highlights, infographic-like display of tweets and blogs to create a festival buzz, live map plotting the city-wide festival, unlimited upload of audio, video, images and searchable what's on to plan your visit.
