We're mightily proud of our relationship with Lyric Hammersmith - re-developing their website, creating a Ghost Stories microsite, producing crafty children’s print – and so we were thrilled to be commissioned to create their 2011 and 2012 Season graphics and guides.
For inspiration, we latched onto the storylines and key moments within each production to lead our design approach, whilst always maximising the grungy, cool look which appeals to Lyric’s strong urban audience. Each production has an unique identity for use across all media both online, offline and outdoor, whilst also ensuring that the entire Season is a unified, consistent message about Lyric Hammersmith.
For example, for Lovesong we used an inter-connecting hearty graphic to promote this haunting and beautiful tale of togetherness that intertwines a couple throughout their lives. For Aladdin we played with billowing genie smoke from that iconic lamp to create the identity. Bond's seminal play, Saved, which has not been seen in London for 25 years, used jarring letters punched from a typewriter to highlight the raw emotional nature of this production.
The Season graphics were taken across the website in rich media carousels, e-marketing to promote each production, a printed guide to the Season and for press...our hearts skipped a beat when we spotted the Saved identity on the BBC website.
