For 25 years, the annual TakeOff Festival of Theatre for Children and Young has showcased some of the best children’s theatre from the UK and abroad. To celebrate this milestone, TakeOff approached Wonder to rebrand the festival.

TakeOff ambitiously embraces their future direction; this year the festival is a notably bigger six-day affair with an increasingly varied programme of work. The brand needed to be refreshed to appeal to a widening audience as well as being distinct and identifiable from the festival producers, Theatre Hullabaloo.

We looked to incorporate TakeOff's future objectives whilst producing a brand that tells the story of the TakeOff Festival, presenting it as a must-visit destination. Using a bespoke hand-rendered illustrative approach we created a bright, modern and playful palette easily adaptable across media, posters, merchandise and online. Dramatic illustrations literally rip out of the page in a burst of energy as the festival takes over Durham city in November 2012.

“The rebrand created for TakeOff Festival was completed with absolute care and attention to our brief and we are mesmerised and delighted with the final outcome. Lisa and the team could not have been more helpful or thorough and we are more than happy to recommend any of their services” Sarah Fanning, Operations Manager, TakeOff

Once again as part of our commitment to supporting a client in the roll out of any new branding, style guidelines and toolkit templates helped the TakeOff team to confidently start using the brand and achieve consistency across all their outputs. An adaptable palette of illustrations also provided TakeOff with ownership to effortlessly create items themselves.
